Stop Eating Suya,Christian Association Of Nigeria Urges Members

Christian
Association of Nigeria (CAN) officials
have warned of the possibility of Boko
Haram resorting to the use of suya as
a means of spreading their jihad
across the south of the country by
poisoning millions of innocent people.
According to CAN, Boko Haram
intends to step up its terror campaign
across Nigeria with plans to deploy
6,000 fundamentalis recruits across
the south of the country. It added that
as part of this campaign, Boko Haram
intends to import poisonous powder
which suya sellers will lace their
meats with in a bid to kills millions.
Bishop Emmanuel Chukwuma, the
Anglican Bishop of the Enugu Diocese
and CAN chairman in the southeast
geo-political zone, said “We have
information and documents to show
that this is a jihad being sponsored.
We also have documents to show
where they have dispatched 2,000
people to prepare for a jihad in the
southeast, 2,500 in the south-south
and about 2,000 in the south-west.
“The names of those who are
sponsoring this are in our hands now
and this is a form of jihad to make
sure that Nigeria is frustrated and
Islamised. We are prepared to resist
and they will not succeed, so at the
appropriate time we shall strike and
we are waiting for them” he said.
According to Bishop Chukwuma,
Nigerians should be aware of this plan
and know the source of the problem
when people start dying after eating
suya. He also expressed
disappointment and dismay with the
country’s security agencies, saying it
was disturbing that they could not put
in place measures to forestall the
bombing of churches which he said
happens every Sunday.
“We are warning our people to be
careful of suya because we have now
heard that they will start poisoning
people through it. There is a powder
that is now being imported which they
will spread on suya and after two
weeks it will start eating your liver
and other organs.”
He added that Christians in the south
of Nigeria are prepared for war,
physically and spiritually, and against
any form of attack on their churches.
