The recognition from the superstar is a testimony to how far Tiwa, a one-time backup singer for Blige, has come on her musical journey. Mary J Blige stopped mid-way through her performance to acknowledge Tiwa Savage’s presence in the audience then recounted the tale of how they met and worked together, before inviting the “Eminado” singer onstage to join her. The singing sensation proceeded to belt out a few notes to rousing applause from the audience and a heartfelt hug of appreciation from the Queen.
