Resident Doctors Suspend 3-Day Warning Strike Action

StethoscopeThe Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, has suspended its three-day warning strike. The decision to call off the industrial action follows several pleas and intervention from within and outside the health sector.
National President of the ARD, Dr. Lawal Ismail made this known shortly after discussions were held with members of the senate and federal government officials in Abuja.
The national body of the resident doctors had Wednesday given a directive to all its members to down tools in a three-day warning strike which was scheduled to end on Saturday.
The body had cited poor funding of residency training of its members by the Federal Government as reason for the action.
