IS POLICE REALY YOUR FRIEND?

When you go to any police station, one write up you are sure to see in bold letters is ''POLICE IS YOUR FRIEND''...... Who exactly is a friend? According to Longman Dictionary, a friend is someone that you know and enjoy spending time with. Hmmm, how does this definition connect with the Nigerian police? A friend is someone you know, in other words, someone you can trust..... If you say you can trust Nigerian police then be ready that one day your Trust will be used against you..... Also, a friend is someone you enjoy spending time with. Do you enjoy spending time with the police? If yes, then you must be a criminal.
     Imagine a Policeman shooting a tanker driver for refusing to jack up the N100 bribe he offered them along Wudil Federal High-Way in Kano, northwest Nigeria on Monday. hmmm, what a friend we have in our police.
